On my own, I’ve done a pretty good job of generating imaginary cocktails, including those related to Christmas and Narnia. Since ChatGPT has advanced to the everyman level, why not see what it can do?
I used OpenAI’s version, which is free with registration, and the basic prompt was “Give me a list of imaginary cocktails with a Hawaiian theme. List the ingredients.”
It wasn’t quite as creative as my own randomgen would have been but it went a lot faster, and the results were acceptable and plausible if a little on the predictable side. However there were some gems in here, like the Coconut Crashinator and Lava Lamp, and the silliness of using an pirate’s eyepatch as a garnish. (There were also some questionable elements like”Hawaiian ku’ulei necklace glass” and “taro-infused vodka.”)
